Heater Core Case: Service and Repair


1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Set temperature control lever to ``Hot'' position, then drain cooling system.
3. Disconnect heater hoses from heater core, then remove lower instrument panel attaching screws and the lower instrument panel.
4. Remove supplemental (upper) end of console, then disconnect electrical harness from carburetor control computer. Position computer aside.
5. Disconnect control cables from heater case.
6. On all models, remove heater case from vehicle.
7. Remove heater case cover retaining screws, then the cover.
8. Remove hoses, clamps and water valve from case.
9. Pulling outward, remove heater core from case.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
