MODEL 1987 Precis
PURPOSE
Improvements have been made in the wiring harness for the temperature sending unit and the starter solenoid on the 1987 Precis. This bulletin describes those changes.

DETAILS OF CHANGES
Extension wires have been added to the temperature sending unit harness and the starter solenoid harness. These extensions are fitted with new connectors, and therefore the main wiring harness also changed. Fig. 1, Page 2 shows the two new extensions, the new connectors that connect the extensions to the main harness, and the revisions to the main harness. These changes necessitate a change in the wiring harness illustration on Page 900-10 of the 1987 Precis Service Manual. As reference to this bulletin, please attach the orange sticker to Page 900-10 of the 1987 Precis Service Manual. The change to the wiring harness is shown in the illustration below.
EFFECTIVE DATE OF CHANGE
The above changes became effective in production January 12, 1987. Beginning serial numbers are KMHLD11J2HU042698 and KMHLA11FPHU153602.
PARTS INTERCHANGEABILITY
An old wiring harness may be replaced with a new wiring harness provided the extension is also used. The extensions cannot be used with the old harnesses because the connectors are different.
