DISASSEMBLY

Refer to Fig. 12 distributor disassembled view and proceed as follows:
1. Remove distributor from engine as described under DISTRIBUTOR REPLACEMENT.
2. Gently place distributor assembly into a soft jaw vise.
3. Remove distributor cap from distributor.
4. Remove rotor and vacuum controller attaching screws.
5. Remove link of controller from pin on breaker plate, then remove vacuum controller.
6. Remove two igniter attaching screws.
7. Remove two signal generator attaching screws, then the signal generator with igniter.
8. Remove two breaker plate attaching screws, then the breaker plate assembly.
9. Remove two governor springs.
10. Remove cap and signal rotor shaft attaching screw, then the signal rotor shaft.

ASSEMBLY

1. Clean and inspect all components.
2. Install signal rotor shaft into distributor shaft.
3. Install signal rotor shaft attaching screw and cap, then the two governor springs.
4. Install breaker plate assembly, then the two breaker plate attaching screws.
5. Temporarily tighten two signal generator attaching screws, then adjust air gap between signal rotor and signal generator. Air gap should be .008 - .015 inch.

NOTE: Measure air gap using a brass or aluminum feeler gauge to prevent damage to the signal generator.

6. Remove signal generator attaching screws, then install signal generator and attaching screws.
7. Install igniter and igniter attaching screws.
8. Connect vacuum controller link to breaker plate, then install and tighten vacuum controller attaching screw.
9. Install rotor and cap.
