MODEL 1987 Galant, Tredia/Cordia, Truck & Van/Wagon
PURPOSE
This bulletin details modifications made to the oil pump and oil finer bracket of 1987 Galant, Tredia/Cordia (except Turbo), Truck (2.0L engine only) and Van/Wagon vehicles. The modification was made to improve oil pump performance and to increase part commonality among the models.

MODIFICATIONS
1. The tooth width of the oil pump drive gear and driven gear has been increased as shown in Figure 1.
FIGURE 2:
2. Because of the increased tooth width of the oil pump gears, the gear chamber in the oil pump cover has been increased 4 mm as shown in Figure 2.
FIGURE 3:
3. The oil filter bracket has been modified by adding a 1 mm hole for the relief valve as shown in Figure 3.
