Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection

1. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor from intake manifold, position sensing porting of sensor into heated water and measure resistance between sensor terminals.
2. Resistance should be 5.9k ohms at 32°F, 2.7k ohms at 68°F, 2.5k at 104°F and .3k ohms at 176°F.
3. If resistance is not as indicated, replace coolant sensor.
