Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect throttle position sensor electrical connector and connect test harness MD998464 or equivalent.
2. Check resistance between terminals 2 and 3, Fig. 47. Resistance should be 3.5 to 6.5k ohms.
3. Connect ohmmeter between terminals 2 and 4, then slowly cycle throttle from idle position to full throttle position. Ohmmeter reading should change from approximately .5k ohms to value noted in step 2.
4. If resistance is not within specification, replace throttle position sensor.
