Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

2. Test terminals 2 and 4 for continuity, there should be continuity.
3. Apply 12v power across terminals 2 and 4.
4. Test terminals 1 and 3 for continuity, there should be continuity.
5. If the relay fails either test replace the relay.

HARNESS TEST

1. With the ignition switch in the off position, disconnect the ECU connector. Turn on the ignition and A/C switches. Connect a voltmeter between ECU harness connector terminals 7, 65 and ground and check for supply voltage.

Voltage: System Voltage.

If any of the previous tests produce unsatisfactory results, the harness will need to be repaired or replaced. Once repairs have been completed, confirm that the repair has corrected the problem.

If the trouble returns, it is possible that there is an intermittent failure of the component or the ECU. Check for looseness at all harness junctions and test for an intermittent failure.
