Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

Throttle Opening System:

This switch is used to (independently from the ECU) provide a ground to the throttle opening system. This is to ensure that under conditions of power steering load the idle up solenoid valve is energized to introduce intake manifold vacuum to the idle up throttle opener. The idle-up throttle valve opens slightly preventing engine speed drop caused by the power steering load.
