Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid

OPERATION

The negative pressure in the intake manifold is usually applied to the fuel pressure regulator to control the fuel injection amount to be proportional to the injector drive time by maintaining the fuel pressure to be constant to the pressure in the intake manifold. When the engine is started at the high engine coolant temperature or the high intake air

temperature Is high, ECU flows electricity through the fuel pressure control valve to apply the atmospheric pressure to the fuel pressure regulator.

This increases the fuel pressure to prevent generation of fuel vapor at the high temperatures, thus maintaining the stability of idling soon after restarting.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

If the fuel pressure control valve is not turned on because of wire breakage in the circuit, restartability after hot leakage may become poor.
