Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

Intake Air Temperature Sensor Location:

The Intake Air Temperature Sensor, located on the Air Flow Sensor (AFS), is a resistor-based sensor for detecting the intake air temperature. The ECU provides necessary fuel injection control according to the intake air temperature signal, from this sensor. The resistance of the sensor increases as temperature decreases.
