Required Operations

1. Lift the vehicle and inspect the catalytic converter's manufacture date code located on the bottom side of the converter.

^ If the catalytic converter was manufactured before 900617, (decoded as, 1990 June 17), proceed to step 2.

^ If the date code is after 900617 - e.g. 900718, complete the repair order, a VEHICLE EMISSION RECALL - PROOF OF CORRECTION form, and affix an Emission Recall Completed label onto the hood. No further action is required.

2. If the catalytic converter is within the date range, remove and inspect the catalytic converter for internal damage - replace the converter if necessary. (See the detailed procedure later in this bulletin for complete details.)

3. Affix an Emission Recall Completed label onto the hood.

4. Complete a VEHICLE EMISSION RECALL - PROOF OF CORRECTION form and attach it to the repair order.

5. Provide the customer with the completed repair order and completed Proof of Correction form.
