1. Turn all accessories Off, warm up engine until specified idling speed is reached, then turn engine off.
2. Depress accelerator pedal completely, ensuring throttle valve operates smoothly from full close to full open.
3. Loosen accelerator cable locknut A, Fig. 57.
4. Adjust outer cable to obtain accelerator cable freeplay of .04 inch, then tighten locknut.
5. Ensure accelerator pedal stopper contacts pedal arm when throttle valve is fully opened.
6. Turn ignition switch to On position for 15 seconds, ensuring throttle lever returns.
7. Ensure throttle cable stopper contacts idle speed control actuator, Fig. 58.
8. Slide speed control cable in direction of arrow, Fig. 59, to a point just before the accelerator pedal begins to move and secure cable in this position with clip.
9. Ensure speed control cable freeplay is 0-.12 inch.
