1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering wheel as outlined under STEERING SUSPENSION CHASSIS AND BODY COMPONENTS/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/STEERING WHEEL.
3. Remove knee protector and hood lock handle, Fig. 16.
4. Remove upper and lower steering column covers.
5. Remove lap cooler and shower duct.
6. Remove cable band.
7. Disconnect column switch electrical connections and remove column switch.
