Purge Control Solenoid

1. Disconnect and mark the black and red-striped vacuum hoses from the solenoid.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

3. Connect a hand vacuum pump to the port that the red-stripped hose was disconnected and apply vacuum.

4. Check for vacuum leak to opposite port when voltage is supplied and not supplied as per Fig. 1




5. Using an ohm meter, check the resistance between the terminals.

36 - 44 ohms @68° F
