Component Tests and General Diagnostics

No mechanical component in the distributor can be properly inspected without removal and disassembly of the unit. Refer to COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES.

Visually inspect the housing for oil leaks, damage or wear during disassembly. Repair or replace the unit as needed.
Refer to COMPUTERS AND CONTROL SYSTEMS for Crankshaft Position and Camshaft (TDC) sensor testing procedures.
