HARNESS INSPECTION PROCEDURE

COMPONENT TEST PROCEDURE
1. Remove the multiport fuel injection relay.

2. Check the continuity between the multiport fuel injection relay terminals.

Terminals 5 - 7 Continuity (approximately 90 Ohms)
Terminals 6 - 8 Continuity in one direction only

3. By using the jumper wire, connect the terminal 7 of the multiport fuel injection relay to (+) terminal of the battery and the terminal 5 to (-) terminal of the battery.

CAUTION: If jumper leads are not connected properly the relay will be damaged.

4. Check the voltage at multiport fuel injection relay terminal 1 while connecting and disconnecting the jumper lead at the battery (-) terminal.

Jumper wire Connected: Battery Voltage
Jumper wire: Disconnected 0 Volts

5. Use the jumper leads to connect multiport fuel injection relay terminal 8 to the battery (+) terminal and terminal 6 to the battery (-) terminal.
6. Check the continuity between multiport fuel injection relay terminals 2 - and terminals 3 - 4 while connecting and disconnecting the jumper lead at the battery (-) terminal.

Jumper wire connected:
Terminals 2 - 4: Continuity (0 Ohms)
Terminals 3 - 4: Continuity (0 Ohms)

Jumper wire disconnected:
Terminals 2 - 4: No Continuity (open circuit)
Terminals 3 - 4: No Continuity (open circuit)

7. Replace the multiport fuel injection relay, if malfunction exists.
