HARNESS INSPECTION PROCEDURE
COMPONENT TEST PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the multiport fuel injection relay.
2. Using jumper wires, connect terminal 10 of the multiport fuel injection relay to the + terminal of the battery and connect terminal 8 of the relay to the - terminal of the battery
CAUTION; If jumper leads are not connected properly the relay will be damaged.
3. Measure the voltage at terminal 4 and terminal 5 of the multiport fuel injection relay while coming off and on the connection of the jumper wire to the battery - terminal.
Terminal 4:
Jumper wire connected - B+
Jumper wire disconnected - 0 Volts
Terminal 5:
Jumper wire connected - B+
Jumper wire disconnected - 0 Volts
4. Using jumper wires, connect terminal 9 of the multiport fuel injection relay to the + terminal of the battery and connect terminal 6 of the relay to the - terminal of the battery.
5. Check the continuity between at terminal 2 and terminal 3 of the multiport fuel injection relay while coming off and on the connection of the jumper wire to the battery - terminal.
Jumper wire continuity between terminals 2 and 3:
Connected - Continuity
Disconnected - No Continuity
6. Using jumper wires. connect terminal 3 of the multiport fuel injection relay to the + terminal of the battery and connect terminal 7 of the relay to the - terminal of the battery.
7. Measure the voltage at terminal 2 of the multiport fuel injection relay while coming off and on the connection of the jumper wire to the battery - terminal.
Terminal 2: Voltage
Jumper wire connected - B+
Jumper wire disconnected - 0 Volts
8. Replace the multiport fuel injection relay if faulty.
