Brakes and Traction Control: Service Precautions

1. Disconnect fuel pump harness connector at rear side of fuel tank. Cover fuel pipe line with rag after relieving pressure as residual pressure may still remain.
2. Start engine and let idle until engine stops by itself, then turn ignition switch to Off. Failure to relieve fuel system pressure prior to disconnecting fuel system components may cause fire or personal injury.
3. Disconnect negative battery ground cable.
4. Connect fuel pump harness connector.
5. After repairs have been completed, connect positive battery terminal to fuel pump drive terminal and negative terminal to chassis. Ensure fuel pump operates at this time.
