EGR Control Solenoid: Description and Operation
PURPOSE / OPERATION At specific times determined by the
Engine Control Module (ECM) the Vacuum Solenoid Valve opens and allows vacuum to open the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve. The amount of exhaust gas introduced to the intake system is controlled by the ECM by way of duty cycle signal regulating vacuum flow through the Vacuum Solenoid valve.
