Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

Refer to Technician Safety Information for Air Bag Arming and Disarming.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove knee protector, if applicable.
3. Remove column shrouds, then disconnect switch electrical connectors.
4. Remove switch attaching screws, then the lock cylinder from switch as follows:
a. Insert key in lock cylinder and turn to ACC position.

b. Using a small screwdriver, push lock cylinder lockpin in, Fig. 2, then remove lock cylinder.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
