Magnetic Switch Pull-In Test
Fig. 5 Magnetic Switch Inspection:
1.
Disconnect field coil wire from "M" terminal of magnetic switch,

2.
Connect a 12 volt battery between "S" and "M" terminals.
This test must be performed in less than 10 seconds to prevent coil from burning out.
3.
If pinion moves out, then pull-in coil is operating correctly. If pinion does not move out, replace magnetic switch.
