Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

A. CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR INSTALLATION

(1) Remove the timing belt front upper cover.






(2) Rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise (forward) and align the timing marks. (No.1 cylinder is at the top dead center.)

Caution: The crankshaft must always be rotated only counterclockwise.







(3) Align the mating marks on the camshaft position sensor housing with that of the coupling key.
(4) Check that the ignition timing is at the standard value.
