Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

WARNING SRS : Before removal of Air Bag Module and Clock Spring, refer to the following sections : SRS Service Precautions, Air Bag Module and Clock Spring.

Removal
To remove follow the steps listed in the image and note the following:




Step 4: Steering Lock Cylinder Removal
1. Insert the key in the steering lock cylinder and turn it to the "ACC" position.
2. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver (small) or similar tool, push the lock pin of the steering lock cylinder inward and then pull the steering lock cylinder toward you.




Step 5: Ignition Key Cylinder Illumination Ring Removal
Turn the ignition key cylinder illumination ring to the left and remove it.

Installation
To install reverse the steps listed in the image and note the following:




Step 8: Column Switch Assembly Installation
Tighten the column switch assembly mounting screws to the specified torque in the order of A, B and C.
Tightening torque: 25 N.m (18 ft-lb).
