Using special tool MD998051 and a torque wrench, tighten the bolts to the specified torque in the order shown in the illustration. (in two or three cycles)
Tightening torque 108 ± 5 Nm (80 ± 3 ft. lbs.) to 0 Nm (0 inch lbs.) to 108 ± 5 Nm (80 ± 3 ft. lbs.)

Engine Overhaul





Tighten the bolts in the illustrated sequence in two or three steps.
Tightening torque 108 ± 5 Nm (80 ± 4 ft. lbs.)
Back off the bolts once and tighten them again to the specified torque in step 1.

Install the head bolt washers with the beveled side facing upwards as shown in the illustration.
