Cylinder Head Bolt Re-Use





Re-use limit (A): 99.4 mm (3.91 inches)

Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening





1) Tighten the bolts in the order shown to 78 ± 2 Nm (58 ± 1 ft-lb.)
2) Loosen the bolts fully in the reverse sequence to that shown
3) Tighten the bolts in the order shown to 20 ± 2 Nm (15 ± 1 ft-lb.)





4) Apply a paint mark to the heads of the cylinder head bolts and cylinder head.

Then tighten 90 degree angle as shown.
5) Tighten in a 90 degree angle as shown in the instructions of the figure.

Then check to see that the paint mark on the head of the cylinder head bolts and the paint mark on the cylinder head is on a linear line.


Cylinder head gasket surface flatness
Standard value 0.03 mm (0.001 inch)
Limit 0.2 mm (0.007 inch)

Intake manifold 24 ± 3 Nm (18 ± 1 ft lbs)

Camshaft sprocket bolt 89 ± 9 Nm (65 ± 7 ft-lb)

Exhaust manifold 49 ± 5 Nm (36 ± 3 ft lbs)
