Fig. 27 Cluster lid "A" removal:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove steering column covers.
2. Remove panel illumination rheostat.
3. Remove ash tray, remove screws securing bracket, and remove bracket.
4. Pull off control level knobs and remove control face plate by prying through fan switch opening.
5. Pull off radio knobs and remove nuts and washers securing radio.
6. Remove screws securing control to instrument panel.
7. Remove screws securing instrument cluster bezel (cluster lid A), Fig. 27.
8. Disconnect wiring harness connectors to bezel and remove bezel.
9. Remove defroster ducts.
10. Disconnect control cables and rod at heater case and disconnect wiring harness connectors to control.
11. Remove screws securing control bracket and remove control and bracket as an assembly.
12. Reverse procedure to install, then adjust control cables.
