SERVICE INFORMATION

Some 200SX vehicles may exhibit a rubbing noise from the speedometer cable. This noise is caused by the insert tip for the speedometer being misaligned with the flexible cable, allowing it to rub against the cable housing (see below).
To eliminate this noise the speedometer cable has been modified. If you experience a vehicle with this noise, replace the cable assembly with a countermeasure part (the part number was not changed). Vehicles produced after December 15, 1986, have the countermeasure speedometer cable.
