Emission Control Systems: Service and Repair


1. Change injection timing.
2. Remove nut which secures EGR tube to EGR control valve and disconnect tube from valve.
3. Disconnect vacuum hose and remove nuts mounting EGR control valve to intake manifold, then remove valve.
4. Remove EGR guide tube and install EGR guide tube for high altitudes, making sure tube is correctly installed.
5. Install EGR control valve and new gaskets and connect vacuum hose.
6. Install EGR tube to control valve.
7. Check that exhaust gas does not leak from EGR control valve seat and EGR tube connection.
