Park / Neutral Position Switch:

DESCRIPTION
When the gear position is "P" (A/T models only), park/neutral position switch is "ON".
ECM detects the park/neutral position when continuity with ground exists.

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

OVERALL FUNCTION CHECK
Use this procedure to check the overall function of the park/neutral position switch circuit. During this check, a DTC might not be confirmed.

With CONSULT
1. Turn ignition switch "ON".

2. Perform "PARK/NEUT POSI SW CKT" in "FUNCTION TEST" mode with CONSULT.

- OR -

2. Select "P/N POSI SW" in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT

3. Check the "P/N POSI SW" signal under the above conditions.

Without Tools
1. Turn ignition switch "ON".

2. Check voltage between ECM terminal (22) and body ground under the above conditions.
