BASF Glasurit Procedure

Bumper Cover Preparation PUR or PP

1. Pre-baking the bumper cover at l40°F for 45 minutes will improve adhesion.

2. Wash the bumper cover with soap and water.

3. Dry with paper towel and lint-free cloth.

4. Wash with Glasurit 541-30 Universal Plastic Cleaner to remove wax, silicone and contaminates.

Dry with paper towel.

5. Scuff the entire bumper cover with gray Scotchbrite pad.

6. Wash off residue with 541-30.

7. Allow to dry completely with lint-free cloth.

Coating PUR (Polyurethane) bumper covers

8. Apply 1 thin uniform coat of Glassofix 934-01K Plastic Adhesion Primer.

9. Allow 15 to 20 minute flash time.

10. Apply Glasurit L-21 or L-54 to hiding. In the case of L-21, use 40 volume parts of Glassodur 521-111 Elastifier Additive according to procedure.

11. In the case of L-54, allow 15 to 20 minutes flash time.

12. Apply either Glassodur 923-54 or 923-85 with 20 volume parts Glassodur 521-111 Elastifier Additive according to label directions (or compliant clear for VOC regulated areas).

Coating PP (Polypropylene) bumper covers

8. Apply 1 thin uniform coat of Glassodur 285-02K Transparent Filler.

9. Allow 15 to 20 minute flash time.

10. Apply a thin coat of Glassodur 285-75 Tintable Primer if necessary.

11. Apply Glasurit L-21 or L-54 to hiding. In the case of L-21, use 40 volume parts of Glassodur 521-111 Elastifier Additive according to procedure.

12. In the case of L-54 allow 15 to 20 minutes flash time.

13. Apply either Glassodur 923-54 or 923-85 with 20 volume parts Glassodur 521-111 Elastifier Additive according to label directions (or compliant clear for VOC regulated areas).
