Exhaust Manifold Nuts 28.4 - 33.3 Nm (2.9 - 3.3 kg-m, 21 - 24 ft. lbs.)
Cylinder Head Bolts
Step a 98 Nm (10 kg-m, 72 ft. lbs.)
Step b 0 Nm Loosen in the reverse order of tightening
Step c 32.9 Nm (4.0 kg-m, 29 ft. lbs.)
Step d 90° degrees clockwise
Step e 90° degrees clockwise
Cylinder Head Bolts
CAUTION: Cylinder head bolts are tightened by degree rotation tightening method. Whenever the size difference between d1 and d2 exceeds the limit, replace the bolts with new ones.
Limit (d1 - d2) 0.11 mm (0.0043 inch)
If a reduction in outer diameter appears in a position other than d2, use it as the d2 measuring point.
Camshaft Bracket Bolts
Step 1 (bolts 7 - 10) 1.96 Nm (0.2 kg-m, 17 inch lbs.)
Step 2 (bolts 1 - 6) 1.96 Nm (0.2 kg-m, 17 inch lbs.)
Step 3 5.88 Nm (0.6 kg-m, 52 inch lbs.)
Step 4 (bolts 1 - 6) 10.4 Nm (1.1 kg-m, 92 inch lbs.)
Intake Manifold
Stud bolts 9.8 - 11.8 Nm (1.0 - 1.2 kg-m, 87 - 104 inch lbs.)
Intake Manifold Bolts
Step 1 4.9 - 9.8 Nm (0.5 - 0.99 kg-m, 44 - 86 inch lbs.)
Step 2 26.5 - 31.4 Nm (2.7 - 3.2 kg-m, 20 - 23 ft. lbs.)
Step 3 26.5 - 31.4 Nm (2.7 - 3.2 kg-m, 20 - 23 ft. lbs.)
Main Bearing Cap
Re-use of the main bearing cap bolts
Measure d1 and d2 as shown.
For d2, select the minimum diameter in the measuring area.
If the difference between d1 and d2 exceeds the limit, replace the bolts for assembly.
Limit (d1 - d2) 0.11 mm (0.0043 inch)
Bearing Cap Bolts
Step 1 32 - 38 Nm (3.3 - 3.9 kg-m, 24 - 28 ft. lbs.)
Step 2 90° - 95° degrees clockwise
OIL PUMP
Water Pump Bolts
Tighten alternately and evenly 8.5 - 10.7 Nm (0.86 - 1.10 kg-m, 75 - 95 inch lbs.)
Upper Oil Pan Bolts 15.7 - 18.6 Nm (1.6 - 1.8 kg-m, 12 - 13 ft. lbs.)
Lower Oil Pan bolts 9.22 - 10.6 Nm (0.94 - 1.00 kg-m, 82 - 93 inch lbs.)
Front Timing Chain Case Bolts
1, 2 25.5 - 31.4 Nm (2.6 - 3.2 kg-m, 18.8 - 23.1 ft. lbs.)
3-22 11.8 - 13.7 Nm (1.2 - 1.4 kg-m, 8.7 - 10.1 ft. lbs.)
Connecting Rod Nuts
Step 1 19 - 21 Nm (1.9 - 2.1 kg-m, 14 - 15 ft. lbs.)
Step 2 90° - 95° degrees clockwise
Flywheel/Flexplate Bolts 83 - 93 Nm (8.5 - 95 kg-m, 61 - 69 ft. lbs.)
Crankshaft Pulley
Step 1 39 - 49 Nm (4.0 - 5.0 kg-m, 29 - 36 ft. lbs.)
Step 2 60° - 65° degrees clockwise
