System Specifications

CYLINDER HEAD

Cylinder Head





Install cylinder head following the steps below to tighten cylinder head bolts in numerical order as shown.

CAUTION: If cylinder head bolts re-used, check their outer diameters before installation. Follow the "Cylinder Head Bolts Outer Diameter" procedure.

NOTE: Apply new engine oil to threads and seating surfaces of mounting bolts.

Step a : 50 N.m (5.1 kg-m, 37 ft-lb)





Measure the tightening angle using Tool.


Tool number : KV10112100 (BT-8653-A)







Camshaft Bearing Cap






Tighten bolts of camshaft brackets in the following steps, in numerical order as shown.






Intake Manifold






If stud bolts were removed, install them and tighten to the specified torque below.

Intake manifold bolts : 9.4 N.m (0.96 kg-m, 83 in-lb)





Tighten in numerical order as shown.

NOTE: No. 6 means double tightening of bolt No. 1.







Camshaft Bearing Cap






Tighten bolts of camshaft brackets in the following steps, in numerical order as shown.






Exhaust Manifold









Tighten nuts in numerical order as shown.


Camshaft Sprocket






Cylinder Head Bolts Outer Diameter
- Cylinder head bolts are tightened by plastic zone tightening method. Whenever the size difference between (d1) and (d2) exceeds the limit, replace them with a new one.






Limit [(d1) (d2)]: 0.23 mm (0.0091 in)


- If reduction of outer diameter appears in a position other than (d2), use it as (d2) point.
