V8 engines use valve rotators, Fig. 6. The rotator operates on a sprag clutch principle utilizing the collapsing action of a coil spring to give rotation to the rotor body which turns the valve.
1. Remove valve cover.
2. Remove flanged bolts, rocker arm pivot and rocker arms, Fig. 6.
3. When installing rocker arm assemblies, lubricate wear surfaces with suitable lubricant. Torque flanged bolts to 25 ft. lbs.
