Compressor Replacement

TORONADO

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge A/C system, then remove accessory drive belt.
3. Disconnect compressor electrical connector, then raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove flywheel inspection cover attaching screws, then the cover.
5. Disconnect starter electrical connections, then remove starter mounting bolts and the starter.
6. Remove A/C hose assembly-to-compressor attaching bolts, then the hose assembly. Discard O-rings.
7. Remove compressor mounting bolts, then the compressor, Fig. 14.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Use new O-rings dipped in 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
