Parking Brake Cable And Lever Type Assembly:

- Adjust brakes as described in Drum Brake Adjustments. Adjustments
- Pull parking brake lever to five ratchet clicks.
- Raise and support rear of vehicle.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the threaded parking brake adjusting rod when servicing the parking brake, clean and lubricate the exposed threads on each side of the nut.

- Tighten adjusting nut on parking brake cable until the right rear wheel can just be turned rearward with two hands but locked when forward rotation is attempted.
- Release parking brake and rotate rear wheels. No drag should be present.
- Lower vehicle.
