MODELS LESS BALANCE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Drain engine oil, then disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
4. Remove starter and flywheel inspection cover, then the starter motor.
5. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and the oil pan.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Apply RTV sealant to locations shown in Figs. 12 and 13.




MODELS w/BALANCE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
1. Remove engine assembly as described under ``Engine, Replace.''
2. Remove oil pan attaching bolts and the oil pan.
3. Reverse procedure to install.
