Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair

Fig. 3 Rocker arm installation:





1. Remove valve cover.
2. Remove rocker arm pedestal retaining bolt, noting position of double ended bolts for assembly.
3. Remove rocker arm and pedestal, and the pedestal support plates, Fig. 3. Keep rocker arms and pedestals together and note installation position. Components that are to be reused should be installed in original position.
4. Reverse procedure to install, torquing pedestal retaining bolts to 45 ft. lbs.
