Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Oil Charge

The HR-6 Compressor System requires 240 ml (8 fl oz) of 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

Oil should be added to the A/C system after it is discharged and before it is evacuated. Remove the refrigeration suction hose at the accumulator outlet pipe connection. Pour the right amount of new refrigerant oil into the hose or pipe then reconnect the hose to the pipe.

NOTE: New oil quantities must be added to the system during component replacement as follows:

^ Compressor - Remove the compressor and drain the oil. Measure the oil removed and if more than 30 ml (1 fl oz) is drained, replace it with the same amount of new oil. If less than 30 ml (1 fl oz) is drained, add 60 ml (2 fl oz) of new oil.
^ Evaporator - Add 90ml (2 fl oz).
^ Condenser - Add 30ml (1 fl oz).
^ Accumulator - Add 105 ml (3.5 fl oz).

NOTE: The accumulator dehydrator should only be replaced when a physical perforation of the accumulator is found resulting in a leak.
