Fast Idle Speed

1. Connect a tachometer and prepare vehicle as instructed on the underhood emission control label. Be sure to block the drive wheels.

2. Remove air cleaner and plug vacuum hose from thermal vacuum valve.

3. Check and adjust ILC MIN/MAX and base idle speed as necessary.

4. Remove and plug vacuum hose to EGR and place fast idle cam on "low" step.

5. With warm engine running, transmission in drive and A/C "OFF," adjust fast idle speed screw until 550 rpm is obtained.

6. Release accelerator from high idle cam and shut ignition "OFF." Reconnect vacuum hoses, install air cleaner and remove blocks from drive wheels.
