Accumulator: Service and Repair


1. Remove transmission pan attaching bolts, then the pan.
2. Remove housing to valve body bolts.
3. Remove housing and pin assembly.
4. Remove 1-2 accumulator piston from housing pin and assembly. Apply low air pressure, 3 psi, to orifice housing.
5. Remove the accumulator piston seal ring from the 1-2 accumulator piston.
6. Remove the spacer plate and gaskets.
7. Remove the 3-4 accumulator piston, spring and pin.
8. Remove piston seal ring from piston.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
