Governor Assembly

1. Inspect governor cover for worn bore, scoring, or restricted oil passages. Use compressed air to blow out restricted oil passages.

2. Using a specified solvent, thoroughly clean and blow dry governor cover.

3. Inspect governor weights for free movement.

4. Inspect governor driven gear for chipped teeth or damage.

5. Install governor assembly into case.

6. Install gasket, governor cover and bolts. Torque bolts to specifications. Ensure governor shaft is positioned fully in governor cover before torquing governor cover bolts.
