Evaporator Core: Service and Repair


1. Discharge and recover refrigerant from A/C system.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front exhaust system heat shield.
4. Remove three attaching bolts, then swing cradle cross brace aside.
5. Disconnect refrigerant lines from evaporator, then lower vehicle.
6. Remove under dash insulator panel from right hand side.
7. Disconnect electrical connector at heater core cover on heater A/C module.
8. Remove steering column filler panel.
9. Remove center console to gain access to floor duct and heater core cover.
10. Remove heater core shroud and straps. Use care when removing evaporator core, as heater heater core is only suspended by heater core pipes.
11. Remove evaporator core from vehicle.
12. Reverse procedure to install. When connecting refrigerant lines, use new O-rings.
