Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. Be certain to verify proper Power Door Lock functionality before testing Remote Keyless Entry system diagnosis.
2. Check that transmitter battery terminals are clean and make good contact with the Battery.
3. Try a second transmitter if available. If the second transmitter works, remove the Battery and install the Battery (Duracell # DL2016 or equivalent) in the original transmitter. Try the original transmitter again. If the original transmitter still does not work, it is defective.

^ Check for a broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could casue system failure, but prove "GOOD" in a continuity/voltage check.
^ Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.

^ Perfrom the System Check and refer to the Symptom Table for the appropriate procedure(s).

Important
^ The Last Door Closed Locks the Doors (LDCLD) feature will be inoperative if the Overhead Console Courtesy Switch is "OFF" and either the Map Lamp, Rear Dome Lamp or Engine Compartment Lamp is "ON."
