Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove cover from starter wiring.
3. Disconnect wiring from starter solenoid, then remove screws retaining wiring harness clips and position harness out of the way.
4. Remove flywheel cover retaining screws, then the cover.
5. Remove starter motor to engine block retaining bolts, then the starter.
6. Reverse procedure to install, torque starter motor retaining bolts to 32 ft. lbs.
