Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Refrigerant Oil

REFRIGERANT OIL TYPE

^ R-134a PAG (Polyalkaline Glycol) synthetic refrigerant oil (GM Part No. 12345923) or equivalent.

OR (See NOTE below)

^ R-12 refrigerant oil, 525 viscosity

NOTE: All vehicles built prior to, and some vehicles built during the 1994 model year used an R-12 air conditioning system. However, some of those vehicles have been converted to use R-134a.
R-12 and R-134a use different lubricants.
A refrigerant tester should be used to determine which refrigerant is used in your vehicle before adding refrigerant or refrigerant oil to the system.
