Starter Motor: Service and Repair

Fig. 2 Starter Motor Replacement:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air induction tube as necessary.
3. Disconnect coolant fan connector and remove coolant fan.
4. Remove oil filter and intake manifold brace.
5. Remove starter bolts and pull starter motor towards passenger side of vehicle, Fig.2.
6. Disconnect electrical connections and remove starter by lifting out between intake manifold and radiator.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
