Expansion Block/Orifice Tube: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Discharge and recover refrigerant from the system.
3. Screw (12).
4. Evaporator tube (5) from evaporator (10).
5. O-ring seal (11).
6. Evaporator tube (5) from condenser (4).
7. Evaporator tube assembly (5).
8. O-ring seal (11).
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New O-ring seal (11).
^ Coat O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Evaporator tube assembly (5).
NOTICE: For steps 3, & and 6, refer to "Fasteners" under "Vehicle Damage Warnings."
3. Evaporator tube (5) to condenser (4).
^ Tighten evaporator tube to 17 Nm (13 lbs. ft.).
4. New O-ring seal (11).
^ Coat O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
5. Evaporator tube (5) to evaporator (10).
^ Tighten evaporator tube to 17 Nm (13 lbs. ft.).
6. Screw (12).
^ Tighten screw (12) to 1.9 Nm (17 lbs. in.).
7. Negative battery cable.
8. Refrigerant to the system.
^ Check the system for leaks.
