Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

NOTE: There are two possible locations for the Knock Sensor (KS) Module.

MOUNTED TO THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) BRACKET BEHIND THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT

Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Glove compartment assembly.
3. KS module connector.
4. Attaching screws.
5. KS module.

Install or Connect
1. KS module.
2. Attaching screws.
3. KS module connector.
4. Glove compartment assembly.
5. Negative battery cable.


MOUNTED TO RIGHT CROSS BRACE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Remove or Disconnect

2. KS module connector.
3. Attaching screws.
4. KS module.

Install or Connect
1. KS module.
2. Attaching screws.
