Knock Sensor Module

Removing/Replacing Knock Sensor Module:

Knock Sensor (KS) Module Removal:






REMOVAL
1. Disconnect wiring harness from Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
2. Disconnect PCM from mounting bracket.
3. Remove the access cover from PCM.

NOTES:
^ Do NOT remove any other screws.
^ Removal of the plug-in knock sensor (KS) module can be accomplished by two methods.

Method 1
Apply two opposing forces on either side of the latch mechanism as shown below and pull unit up from the header.

Method 2
Apply force toward the plug-in KS module with the thumb or forefinger with an opposing force on the opposite side of the module.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the KS module by pushing the unit toward the header.
2. Install the access cover to PCM.
3. Connect the PCM to mounting bracket.
4. Connect wiring harness to the PCM.
