Spark Plug: Service and Repair

CAUTION: To avoid engine damage, do not remove spark plugs when engine is warm. Use care when removing spark plug wire boots from spark plugs. Twist the boot 1/2 turns while removing, and pull on the boot only to remove the wire.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. ignition key "OFF."
2. Remove foreign material from around the spark plug holes and remove the spark plugs.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Adjust spark plug gap to 1.5 MM (0.060 in.) using a spark plug feeler gage.
2. Install new plugs and tighten properly.

Tighten
Plug to 15 Nm (11 lbs ft.).
